What is the difference between eyeshadow primer and concealer?

I was just wondering if you could use normal concealer or just even cover up as an eye primer instead of paying big bucks for an actual eye primer? What is the difference between eyeshadow primer and concealer?
Concealer works great as an eyeshadow primer substitute, but if you want it to last longer, than use eyeshadow primer.

I use concealer as my ';primer.'; It only lasts for about 8 hours though, but I'm okay with that, because I don't need to be with make-up for 8 hours. :)

Do you need to wear foundation if you are just wearing eyeshadow and concealer?

Help... I think of have marks on my face from not wearing it...Do you need to wear foundation if you are just wearing eyeshadow and concealer?
You don't NEED it but if you want to it's okay. Wearing eyeshadow and concealer without foundation doesn't leave you unpleasant marks when used alone. Just make sure you blend your concealer to your skin well that it won't look obvious that you're wearing one.Do you need to wear foundation if you are just wearing eyeshadow and concealer?
If you don't need foundation, don't wear it. If you have nice skin, why even bother? Eyeshadow and concealer are good enough, plus foundation feels heavy and greasy sometimes, ewww!
You don't have to wear foundation with concealer, but it is helpful to as far as application of the concealer is concerned.

Not only will the foundation help even your skin tone, but concealer glides on more smoothly over foundation than it does on bare skin. To apply concealer, dot under the eye or on the problem areas, then pat into your skin using your fingertip. Smudging or rubbing is more harmful to the delicate skin under your eyes.

Hope this helps!!
You only need to wear foundation if your skin tone is uneven. Otherwise concealer only would be just fine.
No foundation is for if your skin is uneven.

eyeshadow and concealer are fine without a

foundation
no just make sure the concealer matchs your skin

or every couple hours go to a mirror and and smooth it out i have problems with mine unde my eyes (the creases under them) i just run my finger over it and its fine . try that and see if it helps
If it's done well then it will work well. I done that for about a year before I started to wear foundation.
no; foundation is for an uneven skin tone.

it has nothing to do with eyeshadow.

you should be fine without it.

just try to blend the concealer a little better.

dab at it with your finger tip until it doesnt stick out so much.
dont bother with foundation its gross and looks made up. grab some translucent powder. it goes on even and with concealer applied properly (and not to thick) it will look great and natural.

I have dark circles, eyeliner, mascara, eyeshadow, concealer -- How should I apply them? Tips?

I'm 14 and I have serious dark circles. I sleep well and all that, but they don't seem to go away. I'm tired of stressing out over them, so I don't want tips on helping get rid of them.

I want good all-over eye makeup ideas.

Eyeliner, mascara, concealer, eyeshadow.

I have nice eyes, but I feel like these dark circles ruin them.

I love eye makeup, so I need good tips.

I have blue/green eyes.I have dark circles, eyeliner, mascara, eyeshadow, concealer -- How should I apply them? Tips?
Yeah, nothing much gets rid of them, they may be inherited, or they may be caused by allergies.

Use your concealer after you moisturize and before you use a foundation...if you wear a foundation. If you don't use a foundation, you should use a face powder on top of the concealer to ';seal'; it otherwise your eyeliner and mascara will smudge during the day because the concealer has oils in it which will break down your eye makeup.

I put my concealer all over my eyelid to use as a base for my eyeshadow. I have green eyes and find that the best color eyeshadows for me are in the pink and purple shades. They bring out the color of my eyes best.

I read a great eyeliner tip the other day: draw a thin line starting at your inner eye, as you reach the middle of your eye thicken the line. This makes your eyes look bigger. Check out photos of Angelina Jolie, she does her eyeliner this way. Have fun!I have dark circles, eyeliner, mascara, eyeshadow, concealer -- How should I apply them? Tips?
What about smokey eyes? May be not for everyday though..

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:

Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water %26amp; stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath %26amp; let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K %26amp; Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

okay to get rid of the dark circles, put 3 dabs of concealer under them and rub it on to get rid of the circles. i also have blue green eyes myself, and a very light purple looks very pretty, or ever a light green or pink looks nice. for eye liner you could use a chocolate color or a dark navyish color. use a peach colored blush and just apply it to the cheek bones up into your eye direction. a clear or soft pink tinted lip gloss would look pretty also. and dont go too heavy on the mascara or youll look weird. just go lightly, enough so that you can have fuller lashes. hope it works!
Avon has an awsome product for dark circles under your eyes. I'm 19 and I use this and anti-wrinkle cream, I want to beat it all BEFORE it even starts to happen. I'm also a workaholic and help take care of a 2 year old, so renew does wonders for me.

First of all, with blue/green eyes STOP USING BLACK!!! I will look up stuff to see what is the best for you, and I will e-mail you, or leave another comment.

I also love eye make-up and have found that if I use a ';base'; first, nude colors show up a lot more and you can tell I have eye shadow on. Get a creamy type of eyeshadow in white, and put that on first. Also, eye liner (top lid only) in a THIN line looks awsome.....I love liquid eye liner. Buy some (felt tip may be easier for you) and spend a night playing with it to get the right pressure and practice practice practice!!! To make a thin line easier, pull on the outer corners of your eyelid to make your lid tight.

Good luck!!!!
Try to drink more water. Sometimes if you're not eliminating the toxins in your body your skin reflects that. Also, try vitamins, if nothing else, just a daily one.

If you want to just cover it up, use a sponge (you can get them at the dollar store) to apply a liquid foundation. You can then use a powder over that to set it. That will usually work for the day, but you may need to reapply after a few hours (if you go right from school to out with friends, etc). Also-some companies, such as Avon, offer topical (skin cream) remedies for under-eye circles but these can be pricey.

I hope this helped you, Good Luck!
use the concealer first just put some on the dark circles then rub with your finger around the whole bottom area of your eyes. Don't put too much though. I lil bit will be okay cuz if will blend good after 5 min. Then put eyeshadow and then use the mascara. I use a lil blush on my cheeks so the dark circles are don't stand out that much.

:)
haha you have the same problem as me. I can't get rid of them either, but what I like to do to help is to first exfoliate and moisturize my face (yeah like everyday) and then I put concealer under my eyes, after that I put on a little bit of foundation, and then just a small line of eyeliner under my lower lashes. But what helps the most is not wearing dark eyeshadows, they only make you notice the dark circles even more. try wearing silver, pink, and other light colored eyeshadows.
people that have natural Cat eyes to me are beautiful, but to get a cat eye look you can apply a little bit of darker shading than your skin coler but make sure its just a touch of not a drastic dark from your skin, and stroke up a hint. and use a black mascara and if you have natural long eyelashes that always helps a hint but its sucks for those who have to resort in an eyelash curler or fake eyelashes the little bit of dark shadow and the cat eye look eliminates Dark circles ,,!!!!

Do you think pinks, purples, blues, and greens are cheesy eyeshadow colors? Do you think naturals are better?

I think colored eyeshadows are cheesy looking.

I personally think you should go with natural colors.

But I want to know what you think!Do you think pinks, purples, blues, and greens are cheesy eyeshadow colors? Do you think naturals are better?
People can definatly overdo it, but I love neutral colors and colors. The color eyeshadow that I use are from Cover girl, because they have the different color pack. You are supposed to put the medium color from the lash line to the brow bone, then I put the darker shade in the crease, then the lightest near the eyebrow and it looks awesome because all the colors blend together. I personally stick with lighter colors like pinks or purples because I have blue eyes. If you use darker colors I think too that some people who don't put it on right look like clowns. When I go out to the clubs or bars is when I use colors. the color by Cover girl I use is called Dance party, and it is my all time favorite color eyeshadow. It all depends on what color eyes and skin tone you have to find the right colors for you.Do you think pinks, purples, blues, and greens are cheesy eyeshadow colors? Do you think naturals are better?
If your going to use vibrant colours for eyeshadow the rest of your makeup has to be minimal (no Scarlett red lipstick) and try to wear a solid colour shirt (black or white) so that you don't look overdone.

Besos

Khetani
I dont know, i use silver
i think what u think. :-)
i wouldn't say the blues/purples/greens are ';cheesy,'; they're just very trendy, cliche, and boring. you see them most commonly on the exact same shallow fashion-core indie fashionistas who strive for a unique look, only to end up looking exactly the same as all their friends, with the choppy black/white zebra bob, black jeans, etc.

lame.
I love neutrals like browns and light light pinks.
It all depends, on the outfit you're wearing, where you're going, what you are going to be doing. Like, I have a purple shirt, and I noticed when I use this light lavender eyeshadow, it really makes my eyes POP, but when I wear a different color shirt, I just look like somebody who seriously needs make-up help.. But, most the time naturals are much better. and, prettier, in my opinion.
I love wearing green eyeshadow

It looks wild and funky

And it blends very well with fair skin

=)
I think naturals are better, but pinks and purples can work sometimes.
Natural makeup colors are always best, because it allows for your natural beauty to shine through. When your makeup is so noticeable that it becomes the first thing people notice about you, then it is not right for you. If you pair those 'cheesy' colors with the natural ones, you can get away with them though.
i use pinks......but i dont over do it its a wintery look and i dont put too much on i love natrual colors on the upper part of my eye a soft gold or shimmery brown always looks nice on me but a pale pink or a shimmery pale pink always looks great on me because im black and im yella bone so i try to find something mild and not all crazy out there but earth tones are really in
I think that using colored eyeshadows are okay...as long as you don't overdo it...and as long as you know what you're doing.

But, in my opinion, I don't think anyone should wear light blue...because people tend to really overdo it with that color. blech.
Naturals are better
It depends on what your skin complexion is.
i like natural colors best because it is natural and it goes with your skin best and it is not too much its just simple and basic
I LOVE pink eye shadows, especially w/blue eyes.

I also have a favorit bluish/purplish eye shadow that I wear, it's the same color as my eyes.

Maybe your teacher just wore way too much of it!!!

Wear what looks good on YOU! Everyones different, some ppl jus never figure it out! :)
no eye shadow colour i cheesy..it should look good on u..i love all colours from christian dior..especially the 5 colour palette..u can use 5 colours, blend them to achieve the desired look..but for office wear one should stick to natural colours....other colours are for an intense and dramatic look for parties...one should experiment..naturals are great..but while u r young, energetic, fresh u must opt for bright shades...they look happy too....u got ur whole life left to wear naturals....
I have a preference for naturals. Colors can create a dramatic and interesting effect, but you have to be really careful in you creativity because it's easy to overdo a makeup scheme. Maybe it would be interesting to use all neutrals except for one colorful color; the neutral will tone down the color, and the colorful shade will make the neutrals more shocking and interesting.
It depends on how you use it.
I used to wear natural looking ones but Lily Allen wears bright red and yellow and green and it looks wayyyyyy good!

So im starting to wear bright eye shadows now lol

Looks awesome.

x.x.x
I think it depends on how you wear them... if they are light, or sheer.. I love colors on people, they can really make an outfit, or make their eyes pop... but if they put it on too heavy its tacky.
pinks purples blues and greens look right on the right person. if it doesn't look good on you, go with the naturals.

Natural makeup look and how to make eyeshadow last longer?

I need a natural make-up look. I have to wear foundation though, but it's clinique and it really isnt that thick. I have a light pink gloss, black and blue eyeliner, all kinds of eyeshadow, and blush that seem a little too pink for a natural look. I also have mascara. What should i use? I was thinking of a light layer of eyeliner. I don't have brown right now. =/ So, please help. I want it to look natural, and I want my eyes to really look pretty.

i have brown hair brown eyes. also, do you know anyways to make eyeshadow last longer?Natural makeup look and how to make eyeshadow last longer?
Well in my opinion, a natural make-up look only consists of mascara, blush, and some lip gloss... Dark coloured eye shadows tend to create a rather dramatic look, and pink blushes aren't really that natural since you want to look as if you have rosy cheeks from exercise or something. The best is to stay away from dark coloured eye shadow or don't even use it at all, but if you must it would be best to use light colours like baby pink, or pale green or something like that (those colours also compliment brown eyes). The best colour of blush to use is to use a kind of orange-y/pink-y shade, although it does depend on what colour your skin is.

A way to make your eye shadow last longer is to apply a make-up base (the same colour as your skin) or even foundation and then apply the eye shadow on - the powder will stick to the foundation so it'll last longer.

Hope I helped! :)Natural makeup look and how to make eyeshadow last longer?
there's eye primer stuff that you put on before eye makeup that keeps it looking fresh for hours. lots of the companies make it, i use the mary kay one.

for natural makeup look use bare minerals. you just brush it one and it makes your face look soooo good without that heavy foundation feel.

black and blue eyeliner is never going to look natural - browns, smoky grays are the natural look. if you only have black, then really smudge it so it doesn't look harsh. otherwise you can seriously curl your eyelashes, use mascara and forgo eyeliner at all...
So, the most natural look that you could get with brown hair and brown is:

use as little foundation as humanly possible

use your black eyeliner and only outline your upper lid with a teeny tiny gentle line (if you draw it on to thick, use a q-tip to wipe some away)

Use only one coat of black mascara

if you have some orangish-brownish-pinkish eyeshadow dab the tip of your finger into the shadow and then tap around the apple of your cheek and blend

no lip gloss

no eye shadow

VOILA!

I hope this helps.

covergirl

rimmel

maybelline

almay

australis

savvy

...

im considering either the rimmel quad or the covergirl, i want a really natural eyeshadow makeup that enhances my eyes for when i go out during the day (not at school). but pigmented and a little shimmer!

thanks!Best drugstore eyeshadow for an Asian's natural eyes?
Hi

i work as the cosmetician at priceline:)

and if you go i and see someone like myself and tell us your budget we can go from there

hope this helps see you soon:)Best drugstore eyeshadow for an Asian's natural eyes?
I suggest Covergirl or Maybelline. Do NOT buy Rimmel London. Seriously, I have a duo and you don't get a lot of color. You have to press down and dig to get some on your brush. And if it looks dark in the case, when you put it on it is light and not so pigmented.

You can buy Covergirl and Maybelline at Target. Have fun :)
cover girl or maybelline, definately. i don't use alot of almay but it seems like an ok brand. i would use rimmel before almay, actually. i just like thier stuff better.
the best one is the rimmel one that has 3 in the pan.

  • Eyeshadow for green eyes? natural makeup!?

Best colours for green eyes...natural makeup! i have dark green eyes, quite small!Eyeshadow for green eyes? natural makeup!?
i have green eyes too. i like to wear my makeup natural as well, so what i use is natural shades of browns and golds.

i love victorias secret ';beauty rush'; eye shadows. i apply a dark brown to my eye lids, and starting from the crease i use almost an brownish amber color from the crease to the bottom of my brow bone. then at the eyebrows i use an even lighter warm golden color that i just brush on. i always use like a walnut colored eyeliner on the top and bottom, i ahve very big eyes and extremly long eyelashes, but if you have smaller eyes, try to stay away from dark colors. apply mascara to your lashes and thats really all you need to do to have a frsh natural look that will make your eyes pop.

another tip is that purple is the best color to use with green eyes if you would want to try a different color. purple is the opposire color of green, it is amazing how noticable your eye color looks when you use purple shades.

i really hope this works for you!Eyeshadow for green eyes? natural makeup!?
Darker shades of brown and golds would be best with green eyes. Brown brings out the green in your eyes and the darker colours will make small eyes look bigger.

To make it look more natural, don't use too much eyeshadow, be subtle. Use a good quality, volumising mascara to accentuate your eyes.
I have green eyes and the best colors are golds, bronze's, browns and black....black really makes green eyes pop. Also try silver. Silver looks amazing with green eyes :)
Ive seen purple is great color for green eyes. Or for more natural go with darker earthtones like brown, or tan. Use a lot of mascara to show off your eyes.
I have geen eyes and I make sure my eye brow's are well waxed and I use denim blue colours and browns and smokey Gray's and a good mascara!
Purple, dark green, gold/brown,%26amp; ALWAYS brown eyeliner.
line your eyes with soft brown eyeshadow, then add darker browns for definition. Add broze and gold for sparkle and pizazz!!
Yes. browns, golds and purples all show up the colour of your eyes.
Stick to neutral shades i.e. browns and beiges. Also gold is nice.
