Would Gold Eyeshadow Be Too Bold With Pink Lipstink?

I have bronze skin.I was told you shouldn't wear bold lip colors with bold eye shadow colors. For example, never wear Blue eyeshadow with Red lipstick or vise versa.I was wondering if you thought it would be too much to wear Gold Eyeshadow with this lipstick I bought from M.A.C.
